Christmas is always a special time of year, the main street has loud speakers playing carols mixed in with an old Allan Wallett standard playlist. There are community events happening almost every weekend starting with the Toy Run a few weeks ago which I also photographed and helped organise. On Sunday night probably the biggest community event being the Griffith Carols by Candlelight was held on a mild summer evening with an estimated 2000 plus in attendance.
I was asked if I would like to participate and take some photos. As I was intending on going anyway to photograph the fireworks, I was more than happy to contribute my time to the evening by capturing the atmosphere and excitement that only Carols by Candlelight can create. It was lots of fun but it was also very exhausting, by the end of the night I was totally spent. Always on my feet racing from side to side attempting to get the best angle all while not getting in the way of anybody or tripping over small children.
The night culminated in a spectacular fireworks display which I almost missed as it started ahead of schedule. That was followed by a rare traffic jam as everybody attempted to leave the show grounds via one gate and head home.
I am happy with the photos and I hope that you like them as well.
